Performance Mockup Drawings for a Nashville Stadium

Ayers and Associates produced the mockup shop drawings for National Glass and Glazing, with structural calculations for the storefront system and its connections coordinated through the engineering of record.

The package covered YKK AP YES 45 TU center set storefront framing, insulated glass units with a low-E coating on surface two, and a black anodized-appearance finish.

Mullion analysis was performed against the project's cladding wind load study rather than a generic code case. A performance mockup is tested, so the drawings had to carry the conditions the test would load.

Hold-to dimensions at the framed openings drove the sill and head details. Setting the sill starter directly to the slab is common practice, and confirming how it was being set at the mockup determined the anchor detailing for what followed.
